High Harm Places

Mapping and analysing which locations are suffering the most retail crime offences will provide a valuable insight into where and when offenses are most likely to occur, allowing police and partners to deploy resources more effectively and deter criminal activity.

Research shows that a significant proportion of shoplifting is carried out by a relatively small number of repeat offenders who often target the same locations. By identifying these high-risk areas and patterns of offending, law enforcement can focus on intervention strategies such as targeted patrols, offender management, and partnership working with retailers.

This intelligence-led approach not only helps reduce theft but also disrupts the activities of prolific offenders, protecting businesses and communities alike.
